Let \(t \in (1, 2)\), and let \(B \subset \mathbb{R}^2\) be a Borel set with \(\dim_H B > t\). The author shows that \N\[\NH^1(\{e \in S^1 : \dim_H(B \cap \ell_{x,e}) \ge t - 1\}) > 0 \N\]\Nfor all \(x \in \mathbb{R}^2 \setminus E\), where \(\dim_H E \le 2 - t\). This is a sharp bound for \(\dim_H E\). In some sens this strengthens the result found in [\textit{Y. Fu} and \textit{K. Ren}, J. Fractal Geom. 11, No. 1--2, 1--30 (2024; Zbl 07871283)].
