Effect of wedge duration and electromagnetic noise on spiral wave dynamics
This article quantitatively studies the influence of wedge duration on spiral wave formation and the regulatory effect of electromagnetic noise on spiral wave evolution with the help of three metrics, and attempts to reveal the potential dynamic mechanisms. The basic research results are as follows:\N\N(1) The appearing wave head rotates and evolves into a spiral pattern due to the potential difference between neurons, which is determined by wedge duration;\N\N(2) Whether it is homogeneous or heterogeneous, electromagnetic noise can effectively regulate the evolution of spiral waves;\N\N(3) Noise excitation significantly suppresses the network firing activity and alters the electric field distribution, leading to the narrowing of spiral arm and the drift of wave head.\N\NIn Section 3, the analysis method related to master stability function is employed to analyze the stability of the constructed neuronal network. In Section 5, the regulatory effect of two noise excitation schemes on the evolution of spiral waves is investigated. The major conclusions are drawn in Section 6.
