Cosmology on a principal bundle with the non-abelian Lie group SU(2) with a bi-invariant metric
This paper is devoted to the study of \(4+3\)-dimensional cosmology on the manifold \(M^{4}\times SU(2)\), where the metric on spacetime corresponds to the Friedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker metric and the metric is bi-invariant on the Lie groups \(SU(2)\approx S^{3}\). Such a direction of research is called \textit{higher-dimensional cosmology} or \textit{brane world} [\textit{V. A. Rubakov}, ``Large and infinite extra dimensions, Preprint, \url{arXiv:hep-ph/0104152}]. The paper aims to find a natural explanation for the reason why the cosmological constant \(\Lambda\) appears in the Friedmann equation. The author considers the principal bundle \(P(M^{4}, SU(2))\) with a bi-invariant metric on the Lie group, establishing that the Riemannian curvature of the Lie group \(SU(2)\) makes a nonzero contribution to the scalar curvature of the manifold \(M^{4}\times SU(2)\), which exactly corresponds to the cosmological constant \(\Lambda\). It is etablished that the action functional \(\int Rd\mu\) on the space \(M^{4}\times SU(2)\) automatically leads to the appearance of this term in the equations of motion for the metric, as in the \(\Lambda CDM\) model.
