Principal bundles in the category of Z₂^n-manifolds
The main goal of this article is to develop a systematic and fully rigorous theory of principal bundles in the category of \(\mathbb{Z}_2^n\)-manifolds. The authors aim to show that the central constructions of classical differential geometry -- such as Lie group actions, local trivializations, transition functions, associated bundles, frame bundles, and Ehresmann connections -- can be consistently generalized to this higher-graded setting, despite the presence of non-nilpotent even coordinates and formal power series. By doing so, the paper provides a solid geometric foundation for future work on connections, gauge-type structures, and applications in mathematics and physics within \(\mathbb{Z}_2^n\)-graded geometry.\N\NA principal \(\mathbb{Z}_2^n\)-bundle is a collection of data \(P=P(M,G)=(P,M,G,\pi,a)\), where \(\pi:P\rightarrow M\) is a surjective submersion, \(G\) is a \(\mathbb{Z}_2^n\)-Lie Group, \(a:P\times G\rightarrow P\) is a free fiber-preserving right action such that the bundle is locally trivial, i.e \(G\times U\simeq \pi^{-1}(U)\).\N\NThe authors prove that any principal \(\mathbb{Z}_2^n\)-bundle admits an underlying classical principal bundle \(|P|\rightarrow |M|\) with structure group \(|G|\). Moreover, given atlases on \(|M|\) and \(|G|\)one can construct a compatible atlas on \(|P|\) respecting the bundle structure. As a consequence, the orbit space \(P/G\) is canonically isomorphic to the base manifold \(M\) as a\(\mathbb{Z}_2^n\) manifold.\N\NIt is further shown that, for fixed base \(M\) and structure group \(G\) any morphism between principal \(\mathbb{Z}_2^n\)-bundles necessarily an isomorphism. This rigidity result leads to the characterization that a principal \(\mathbb{Z}_2^n\)-bundle is trivial if and only if it admits a global section.\N\NIn addition, the authors establish a Čech-type classification: principal \(\mathbb{Z}_2^n\)-bundle are in one-to-one correspondence with transition functions \(\{\psi_{ij}:U_{ij}\rightarrow G\}\) satisfying the cocycle condition.\N\NThe authors introduce a conceptually new definition of vector bundles in \(\mathbb{Z}_2^n\)-graded geometry. Instead of defining a vector bundle by imposing linearity conditions directly on the fibers -- an approach that becomes technically problematic due to the presence of non-nilpotent even coordinates and formal power series -- they adopt a frame-bundle-based viewpoint inspired by Cartan-Ehresmann geometry. In this approach, a \(\mathbb{Z}_2^n\)-vector bundle is characterized indirectly via its frame bundle, which is shown to be a principal \(\mathbb{Z}_2^n\)-bundle with structure group \(GL(p|q)\). This shift avoids ambiguities in defining fiberwise linearity and ensures compatibility with the previously developed theory of principal bundles. As a result, vector bundles naturally fit into the general framework of associated bundles, making it possible to define geometric structures such as connections and automorphisms in a coherent and structurally robust way within the \(\mathbb{Z}_2^n\)-setting.
