Combinatorics of infinite rank module categories over finite dimensional sl₃-modules in Lie-algebraic context

Classical Dynkin diagrams are combinatorial objects that arise in a variety of different contexts, for example, in the classification of finite root systems, semi-simple Lie algebras, or representation finite hereditary algebras. There are various generalizations of Dynkin diagrams, for instance, affine Dynkin diagrams, which appear, among other places, in the McKay correspondence and in spectral theory of finite graphs. Infinite generalizations of Dynkin diagrams also appear in various contexts. The authors determine the combinatorics of transitive module categories over the monoidal category of finite-dimensional \(\mathfrak{sl}\)-modules which arise when acting by the latter monoidal category on arbitrary simple \(\mathfrak{sl}_3\)-modules. This provides a family of eight graphs which can be viewed as \(\mathfrak{sl}_3\)-generalizations of the classical infinite Dynkin diagrams.
