Asymptotic analysis of Ricci flow on R^n+1 with type-IIb singularities

A complete Ricci flow \(\bigl(M, g(t)\bigr)\) defined for all \(t \geq 0\) is said to be type IIb if\N\[\N\sup_{M\times[0,\infty)} t|\mathrm{Rm}(t)| = \infty \,.\N\]\NFor example, any steady Ricci soliton is a T\Ntype IIb Ricci flow. Given any \(n+1 \geq 3\) and \(\lambda > 0\), the author constructs a family of non-soliton, non-Kähler, rotationally symmetric, asymptotically flat Riemannian metrics in \(\mathbb{R}^{n+1}\), that evolve into a T\Ntype IIb Ricci flow satisfying \(\sup_M|\mathrm{Rm}(t)| \sim t^{\lambda-1}\) as \(t \to \infty\). Moreover, these solutions remain asymptotically flat in a precise sense depending on \(\lambda\) and subconverge, after a suitable sequence of rescalings near the origin, to the Bryant soliton. The proof is based on barrier arguments for the corresponding nonlinear ODE and matched asymptotic analysis.
