The main result in the paper under review is the following: \N\NTheorem. Let \(G\) be an extraspecial \(\mathbb{Z}\)-group. If \(\sigma\) is an automorphism of \(G\) fixing every normal subgroup of \(G\), then \(\sigma\) is inner. In particular, every class-preserving automorphism of \(G\) is inner.
