Asymptotic eigenvalue distributions for pairs of elliptic bilinear forms
From MaRDI portal

In this paper the author considers the eigenvalue problem \((*)\quad a(x,D)=\lambda b(x,D)u\) where a(x,D), b(x,D) are symmetric, strongly Douglis-Nirenberg elliptic in an open set X of \({\mathbb{R}}^ n\). Under suitable conditions he proves a Weyl type formula for the distribution function: \(\nu(a,b,t)=\#\{\lambda_ j:| \lambda_ j|<t\}\) where \(\lambda_ j\) satisfies (*).
