Some remarks on the homogenization of the dam problem
From MaRDI portal
Publication:795989
The behaviour of the solution for the inhomogeneous dam problem with respect to the variation of the G-convergence is discussed. The limit problem is characterized, using the technique of correctors. A counter- example, furnished by Alt, is presented, which shows that there exists the possibility of the non convergence of the unsaturated regions. Then the present formulation of the dam problem is not closed for G- convergence. But special cases exist where the homogenization can be carried out, like the case of horizontal layers.
