``Enlacements asymptotiques revisited
From MaRDI portal
Abstract: We give an alternative proof of a theorem of Gambaudo-Ghys and Fathi on the interpretation of the Calabi homomorphism for the standard symplectic disc as an average rotation number. This proof uses only basic complex analysis.
In this short note, an alternative proof of the theorem of \textit{J.-M. Gambaudo} and \textit{É. Ghys} [``Enlacements asymptotiques, Topology 36, No. 6, 1355--1379 (1997; Zbl 0913.58003)] and \textit{A. Fathi} [Transformations et homéomorphismes préservant la mesure. Systèmes dynamiques minimaux. Thesis Orsay (1980)] is given, by using the complex analysis only.
