Sharp estimates of approximation in \(L p\) by functions of the form \(\phi (x)+\psi (y)\)
The author obtains sharp estimates for the approximation of a periodic bivariate function by sums of periodic functions of one variable in the \(L_ p\)-norm. The estimates are in terms of the mixed modulus of continuity of the bivariate function.
