Research exposition (monographs, survey articles) pertaining to mathematical logic and foundations (03-02) Theory of fuzzy sets, etc. (03E72) Research exposition (monographs, survey articles) pertaining to computer science (68-02) Reasoning under uncertainty in the context of artificial intelligence (68T37) Research exposition (monographs, survey articles) pertaining to game theory, economics, and finance (91-02) Decision theory (91B06)
The present volume belongs to a series of monographs on fuzzy aspects of intelligent behaviour. This one regards the concept of rationality related to information, knowledge and optimal choice in an uncertain environment. The text of the volume is divided into four main chapters dealing with rationality regarding general epistemics, information and knowledge, decision-making and also ideological aspects of rational decision-choice. Approximately forty per cent of the volume's extent is devoted to a large list of references. The presentation of the topics dealt with in the volume uses a minimum of formal mathematics. The preferred method used by the author is structural analysis and detailed heuristic discussion of particular topics.
- Epistemic foundations of fuzziness. Unified theories on decision-choice processes
- Cost-benefit analysis and the theory of fuzzy decisions. Fuzzy value theory.
- Fuzziness and approximate reasoning. Epistemics on uncertainty, expectation and risk in rational behavior
- On choosing rationally when preferences are fuzzy
- The theory of the knowledge square. The fuzzy rational foundations of the knowledge-production systems
