Abstract: We prove that ${\displaystyle }$ cat Xle cd(pi_1(X))+�igglceilfrac{dim X-1}{2}�igg ceil${\displaystyle }$ for every CW complex $X$ where $cd(p{i}_1(X))$ denotes the cohomological dimension of the fundamental group of $X$.
