Resolving subcategories of derived categories
Let \(R\) be a commutative noetherian ring, and \(\mathcal{D}^{\mathrm{b}}(R)\) denote the bounded derived category of finitely generated \(R\)-modules. A preaisle of \(\mathcal{D}^{\mathrm{b}}(R)\) is a subcategory closed under extensions and positive shifts. On the other hand, a resolving subcategory of \(\mathcal{D}^{\mathrm{b}}(R)\) is a subcategory containing \(R\), and closed under direct summands, extensions, and cocones. In this article, the author shows that if \(R\) is a complete intersection, then there is a one-to-one correspondence between the class of preaisles of \(\mathcal{D}^{\mathrm{b}}(R)\) containing \(R\) and closed under direct summands, and the resolving subcategories of \(\mathcal{D}^{\mathrm{b}}(R)\). This classification includes as restrictions the classification of thick subcategories of the singularity category due to Stevenson, and the classification of resolving subcategories of the module category due to Dao and Takahashi.\N\NFor the entire collection see [Zbl 1540.16001].
