Solving Stokes equation in three-dimensional geometry using finite-difference method
The famous Stokes and Navier-Stokes equations in 3D formulations have no analytical solutions. There are many numerical methods and approaches proposed for the solution of the mentioned equations. Here, the finite difference method on the basis of second and fourth order of accuracy schemes is applied for the numerical analysis of the Stokes equation in a 3D formulation for porous and composite materials. Tests with sand stone have demonstrated a good agreement for the sand permeability found by the numerical methods and experimental data.
