Some identities for generalized harmonic numbers

From MaRDI portal

For a positive real \(\alpha\) and a natural number \(n\), the generalized harmonic numbers are defined as \(H_0(\alpha)=0\) and for \(n\geq 1\), \(H_n(\alpha)= \sum_{i=1}^n \frac{1}{i\alpha^i}\). For \(r < 0\) or \(n \leq 0\), the hyperharmonic number of rank \(r\), \(H^r_n(\alpha)\) is defined as 0, \(H^0_n(\alpha)\) is defined as \(\frac{1}{n\alpha^n}\), while for \(r\geq 1\), \(H^r_n(\alpha)\) is defined as \(\sum_{i=1}^n H_i^{r-1}(\alpha)\). The paper derives some nonlinear differential equations from the generating function of generalized harmonic numbers, and using them derives new identities connecting Stirling numbers of the first and second kind, generalized harmonic numbers, Cauchy and Daehee numbers.
