    The concept of \((A_ 0,S)\)-stability for Volterra integral equations of the second kind, which was previously studied by the author and others, is extended to Volterra integral equations of the first kind. In essence, this stability refers to numerical methods which yield bounded approximations, without restriction on the stepsize, when applied to a polynomial convolution test problem with bounded solutions. The author shows that stability polynomials for methods employing reducible quadrature rules, as applied to first kind equations, can be trivially obtained from results for the second kind equations.
