The article starts with the space X of all entire functions on \({\mathbb{C}}^ 2\) representable by Dirichlet series whose exponents and coefficients satisfy certain relations. The topology on X is specified by the family \(\{M_{\sigma}; \sigma \in {\mathbb{R}}^ 2\}\) of semi-norms, where \(M_{\sigma}(f)=\sup \{f(\sigma_ 1+it_ 1,\sigma_ 2+it_ 2):t_ 1,t_ 2\in {\mathbb{R}}\}\) \(\forall f\in X\), \(\sigma =(\sigma_ 1,\sigma_ 2)\in {\mathbb{R}}^ 2\). The article claims to have successfully introduced the notions of a base, a genuine base, an absolute base and a proper base for X and obtained a necessary and sufficient condition for an absolute base in X to be proper. The need for various clarifications etc. is well indicated by the statement, \(''...\{\delta_{m,n}\}\) (where \(\delta_{m,n}(s_ 1,s_ 2)=\exp (\lambda_ ms_ 1 + \mu_ ns_ 2))\) is a base for X...'' while the space X is not defined in terms of 'fixed' \(\lambda\), \(\mu\) sequences.
