If \(E(z)=\lambda \exp (z)\), where \(\lambda =te^{-1}\) for some \(| t| <1\), the function E has a unique attractive fixed point w, whose basin of attraction is an unbounded simply connected region \(\Omega\). \(\Omega\) is mapped into itself both by \(z\to E\) and \(z\to E^{-1}\). If \(\phi\) is a conformal map of the unit disc D onto \(\Omega\), \(T=\phi^{- 1}E\phi\) is a self-map of D which has a simple explicit form and extends analytically to D-\(\{\) \(1\}\). The dynamics of T on \(\partial D\) are easily described. It is shown that the radial limit of \(\phi\) exists at every point of \(\partial D\). However the induced correspondence between \(\partial D\) and \(\partial \Omega\) is highly discontinuous because \(\partial \Omega\) is locally connected only at \(\infty\).
