A correspondence on a closed curve C is a subset of the cartesian product \(C^{k+1}\). Points of the diagonal are called vertices. Under certain assumptions it is shown that the number of vertices is exactly \(k+1.\) Two order geometric theorems are reduced to this theorem: 1. A plane curve of order \(k+1\) (k fundamental number of order characteristics) has exactly \(k+1\) vertices. 2. A curve of order \(k+1\) in k-dimensional real projective space has exactly \(k+1\) stationary osculating hyperplanes.
