This paper deals with a generalized concept of basis in topological vector spaces which contains as particular cases, the classical notion of basis and the bases in the sense of Abel of \textit{C. Montes} and \textit{P. Pérez Carreras} [Bull. Soc. Roy. Sci. Liège 52, 323-328 (1983; Zbl 0544.46003)]. Given a filter basis \({\mathcal F}\) on \({\mathbb{K}}^{{\mathbb{N}}}\) coordinatewise convergent to the sequence \(e=(1,1,...)\) and given a topological vector space E over the field \({\mathbb{K}}\) of real or complex numbers, we say that a sequence \((x_ i)\) of E is \({\mathcal F}\)-summable in E with \({\mathcal F}\)-sum \(x\in E\) if there exists \[ \lim _{A\in {\mathcal F}}\{\sum ^{\infty}_{i=1}a_ ix_ i| (a_ i)\in A\}=x \] in the topology of E. A sequence \((x_ i)\) of E is called an \({\mathcal F}\)- basis (resp. weak \({\mathcal F}\)-basis if E is locally convex, Schauder \({\mathcal F}\)-basis, weak Schauder \({\mathcal F}\)-basis) if for every \(x\in E\) there exists a unique scalar sequence \((\alpha _ i)\) such that x is the \({\mathcal F}\)-sum of \((\alpha _ ix_ i)\) in the topology of E (resp. in \(\sigma\) (E,E'), with continuous projections \(P_ n(x)=\alpha _ nx_ n\) in E, in \(\sigma\) (E,E')). The main results of the paper are some theorems which ensure the equivalence of some weak \({\mathcal F}\)-bases and Schauder \({\mathcal F}\)-bases on a wide class of locally convex spaces (which improves and extends the above results of Montes and Pérez and contains many of the results in the classical setting of \textit{J. Orihuela} [Arch. Math. 46, 447-452 (1986; Zbl 0605.46006)] and some theorems of equivalence of \({\mathcal F}\)- bases and Schauder \({\mathcal F}\)-bases in topological vector spaces (which improves the classical result of Banach-Newns and a result of Floret about bases in the ordinary sense [\textit{H. Jarchow}: Locally convex spaces. Stuttgart (1981; Zbl 0466.46001) p. 293].
