One considers the Cauchy problem \[ (1)\quad u_{tt}-\Delta u+au_ t+\sum^{n}_{j=1}b_ ju_{x_ j}+cu=0,\quad u|_{t=0}=0,\quad u_ t|_{t=0}=f(x), \] where a,b and c are complex constants. The main result says that the inequality \(| 1/2-1/p| \leq 1/(n-1)\) is a necessary and sufficient condition for the estimate \[ \| u(t,x)\|_{L^ p(R^ n)}\leq C_ t\| f(x)\|_{L^ p(R^ n)}, \] where u(t,x) is a solution of (1) and \(C_ t\) does not depend on f.
