    In the early 1930's R. Remak investigated the subgroup structure of G k, G a group, k an integer, \(k\geq 2\). Important in his work were certain subgroups called meromorphic products. We briefly describe this construction. For \(j\in \{1,2,...,k\}\) let \(B_ j\) be a subgroup of G, \(\bar B_ j\) a normal subgroup of \(B_ j\) such that \(B_ j/\bar B_ j\cong B_{j+1}/\bar B_{j+1}\) with isomorphisms \(\sigma_ j\), \(j=1,2,...,k-1\). Let \(\alpha\) be an ordinal, \(\{b_{1\eta}|\) \(\eta <\alpha \}^ a \)set of coset representatives of \(\bar B_ 1\) in \(B_ 1\) where \(b_{10}=0\) and define a subset \(H\subseteq G\) k by \[ H=\cup_{\eta <\alpha}[(b_{1\eta}+\bar B_ 1)\times \prod^{k- 1}_{j=1}(\sigma_ j\circ...\circ s_ 1(b_{1\eta}+\bar B_ 1))]. \] H is a subgroup of G k called a k-fold meromorphic product. Let End G act on G k componentwise and define \(End(G,k,H)=\{\alpha \in End G|\) \(\alpha\) (H)\(\subseteq H\}\). Let dg End(G,k,H) denote the near-ring distributively generated by End(G,k,H). Theorem: (1) dg End(G,k,H)\(=E(G)\) if and only if \(End(G,k,H)=End(G)\), i.e., if and only if H is E-full. (ii) dg End(G,k,H)\(=\{0,id\}\) if and only if \(End(G,k,H)=\{0,id\}\) and exp G\(=2\), i.e., if and only if H is E-rigid. In this paper we characterize in terms of properties of H, when H is E-full and when H is E-rigid, H a meromorphic product in G k.
