The author examines the representation theoretic foundations of singletons and shows in particular that singletons are described as a de Sitter analogue of twistors. Singletons are constructed by the space \(X= SO_ 0(2,3)/SO_ 0(1,3),\) which can be realized as a subset \(G^+\) of the set \(F_ I\) of all oriented lines L in \(R^ 5\) given by \(G^+= \{L\in F_ I:\) \(\psi (L)>0\}\), where \(\psi\) is a quadratic form of signature \((+,+,-,-,-).\)
