Let \(R\) be a ring with involution. An element \(p\) is called a projection if \(p=p^*=p^ 2\). If the right annihilator of every element \(x\) in \(R\) is a right ideal generated by a projection, then \(R\) is called a Rickart *-ring. In a Rickart *-ring, for every element \(x\) there is a unique projection \(p_ x\) such that \(xp_ x=x\) and (\(xy=0\) iff \(p_ xy=0\)). An ideal is called strict, if \(x\) belongs to \(I\) iff \(p_ x\) belongs to \(I\). The authors investigate strict ideals in Rickart *-rings, the strict prime spectrum, and they present an interesting sheaf representation for a special case of these rings. Unfortunately, no examples are given to illustrate the results.
