    The author proves the following Theorem. If \(p(z)\) is a polynomial of degree \(n>2\), with zeros \(z_ \nu\) satisfying \(| z_ \nu|\geq K_ \nu\geq 1,\) \(1\leq\nu\leq n\), and if \(M(p,R):=\max_{| z|=R}| p(z)|\), then for \(R>1\) \[ \begin{multlined} M(p,R)\leq (R^ n+1)2^{-1}(1-(R^ n-1)(R^ n+1)^{-1}(1+(2/n)\sum_{\nu=1}^ n (K_ \nu-1)^{-1})^{-1})M(p,1)-\\ -| p'(0)|((R^ n-1)/n- (R^{n-2}-1)/(n-2)).\end{multlined} \] A similar estimate holds for \(n=2\) and as a corollary the inequality \(| a_ n|+| a_ 1|/n\leq(1+K)^{-1}M(p,1)\) is obtained for polynomials \(p(z)=\sum_{\nu=0}^ n a_ \nu z^ \nu\) of degree \(n\geq2\) having all zeros in \(| z|\geq K\geq 1\).
