Closed covers of compact convex polyhedra (Q1179444)

The main result in this paper is an extension of a Knaster-Kuratowski- Mazurkiewicz type theorem on closed coverings of a simplex obtained earlier by the authors [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 146, No. 1, 259-270 (1990; Zbl 0685.90107)] to closed coverings of a compact convex polyhedron. From this result, a new proof of a theorem of \textit{D. Gale} [Int. J. Game Theory 13, 61-64 (1984; Zbl 0531.90011)] on a family of \(n\) closed coverings of a simplex is obtained.
