Sei \({\mathcal M}\) eine kohärente (algebraische oder analytische) Garbe über einer kompakten Menge \(X\subset\mathbb{R}^ n\). Bezeichne mit \(|{\mathcal M}_ x|\) die minimale Erzeugendenanzahl des \({\mathcal O}_ x\)-Moduls \({\mathcal M}_ x\). Sind dann die Mengen \(\{x\in X,|{\mathcal M}_ x|\geq i\}\) für jedes \(i\) zusammenziehbar, so wird schon \({\mathcal M}\) durch \(\text{Max}_{x\in X}|{\mathcal M}_ x|\) viele globale Schnitte erzeugt.
