Let \(M\) be a \(\mathbb{C}\)-analytic manifold of \(\mathbb{C}\)-dimension \(n> 0\) and let \({\mathcal D}^+_P(M)\) be the set of principal and nonnegative divisors on \(M\). The authors thoroughly investigate two problems raised by \textit{W. Stoll} [Math. Z. 84, 154-218 (1964; Zbl 0126.09702)]. Problem B: Let the notations be as above. Does there exist a continuous map \(h:{\mathcal D}^+_P (M)\to{\mathcal O}(M)\) such that \(\text{Div} h(D)=D\) for all \(D\in{\mathcal D}^+_P(M)\). For a special class of domain in \(\mathbb{C}^n\), Stoll provides a positive answer for Problem B. Here, a generalization of that result is given provided \(H^1(M,{\mathcal O})=H^1(M,Z)=0\) (Theorem 6.4). Also a converse direction of that result was established (Theorem 6.6) Problem A: Let \(\{D_\lambda\}_{\lambda \in\Lambda}\) be a normal family of elements in \({\mathcal D}^+_P(M)\). Does there exist a normal family of holomorphic functions \(\{h_\lambda \}_{ \lambda \in\Lambda}\) on \(M\) and a compact subset \(K\) of \(M\), such that for each \(\lambda\in\Lambda\), \(\text{Div} h_\lambda(D_\lambda)=D\) and \(h_\lambda (a_\lambda)=1\) for some \(a_\lambda\in K\)? Stoll solved this problem for \(M= \mathbb{C}^n\). In this paper, the authors provide a positive answer for this problem, under the hypothesis of the existence of a continuous map \(h:{\mathcal D}^+_P(M)\to {\mathcal O}(M)\) with \(\text{Div} \circ h=\text{id}\).
