Let be given a positive real number \(R\) and positive integers \(n\geq m\), \(k\geq 2\). Let \(f: [0,R]^ n\to \mathbb{R}^ m\) be a mapping which can be extended to a \(C^ k\)-mapping in some open neighbourhood of the cube \([0,R]^ n\). The author gives an upper bound for the number of balls of radius \(\varepsilon\) in the maximum norm that are needed to cover all nearly critical values of \(f\).
