    \textit{T. M. Flett} [Proc. Lond. Math. Soc., III. Ser. 8, 357-387 (1958; Zbl 0109.045)] defined an extension of absolute Cesàro summability and proved several comparison theorems. In the present paper, the author extends the results of Flett by replacing the factor \(1/n^ \gamma\) be a more general factor of the form \(1/\gamma(n)\). A typical result is the following. Let \(r\geq k>1\), \(\alpha>-1\), \(\beta\geq \alpha+ 1/k- 1/r\), and \(\gamma(t)\) a nondecreasing positive function defined for \(1\leq t<\infty\) so that, for some \(C>1\), (*) \(\limsup (\gamma(Ct)/ \gamma(t))< C^{\alpha+1}\). Then if the series \(\sum a_ n\) is summable \(| C,\alpha, \gamma(t)|_ k\) it is summable \(| C,\beta, \gamma(t)|_ k\) and \(\{\sum \gamma(n)^ r n^{-1}| \tau_ n^ \beta|^ r \}^{1/r}\leq B\{ \sum \gamma(n)^ k n^{-1} |\tau_ n^ \alpha|^ k \}^{1/r}\). If \(k=1\), the result holds when \(r\geq 1\), \(\beta> \alpha +1- 1/r\) and (*) is satisfied.
