The author considers a sequence \(\{M_i^n\}\) of \(n\)-dimensional Riemannian manifolds with sectional curvatures bounded from below and diameters bounded from above by some constants converging in the Gromov-Hausdorff distance to some metric space \(X\). When the Hausdorff dimension of \(X\) equals \(n\) the sequence is called non-collapsing. He proves that iterated spaces of directions of \(X\) are topologically spheres. As an application he shows that for an arbitrary Alexandrov space \(X\), \(n\geq 5\) there exists an Alexandrov space \(Y\) homeomorphic to \(X\) which can not be obtained as a Gromov-Hausdorff limit of noncollapsing sequence.
