    The authors investigate the equation (1) \(\int^ t_{\alpha(t)}K(t,s)\varphi(s)ds = y(t)\), \(t\in [0,1]\), \(y(t) \in C^ 1[0,1]\), \(y(0) = 0\), \(\alpha(t)\in C^ 1(0,1]\), \(\alpha(0) = 0\), \(\alpha(t) < t\), \(\alpha'(t) > 0\), \(t \in (0,1]\), \(K(t,s)\), \(K_ t'(t,s)\) are continuous in \(0\leq t\leq 1\), \(\alpha(t) \leq s \leq t\), \(K(t,t) = 1\). They prove two theorems on existence and uniqueness for equation (1) under different auxiliary assertions for \(\alpha(t)\). In theorem 3 the authors give the estimate \(\| \varphi\|_{C[0,1]} \leq c\| y'\|_{C[0,1]}\). Finally in theorem 4 they show the estimate \(\| \varphi_{h\delta} - \overline{\varphi}\|_{C[0,1]} \leq c(h+{\delta\over h})\), where \(\varphi_{h\delta}\) and \(\overline{\varphi}\) are solutions of the equations \(h\varphi(t) + \int^ t_{\alpha(t)}K(t,s)\varphi(s)ds = y_ \delta(t)\) and (1), \(\| y-y_ \delta\|_{{\mathcal C}[0,1]}\leq \delta\).
