The authors obtain sufficient conditions for the oscillation of all solutions of the difference equation \[ \Delta(c_{n- 1} \Psi(x_{n- 1}) \Delta x_{n- 1})+ q_ n f(x_{n- \ell_ 1}\cdots x_{n- \ell_ m})= 0. \] For related results see the papers of \textit{J. W. Hooker} and \textit{W. T. Paula} [ibid. 91, 9-29 (1983; Zbl 0508.39005)] and \textit{S. Chen} and \textit{L. H. Erbe} [ibid. 147, No. 2, 468-487 (1989; Zbl 0686.39001)]. In the statement of Theorem 2, the sentence ``Then every solution of equation (1) is oscillatory'' is missing.
