The search for trivial types (Q1977654)

This is a contribution to the finer analysis of types in differentially closed fields of characteristic \(0\) in the spirit of Hrushovski-Sokolovic. The author basically considers orthogonality. She gives a complete description of the strongly minimal sets defined by an equation of the form \(\delta y = f(y)\), where \(f\) is a rational polynomial over the constant field, a consequence of which (Marker) is that orthogonality is not definable over a differentially closed field. She also generalizes a criterion of Rosenlicht for orthogonality of types over an ordinary differential field.
