Let \(K\) be a local field with residue characteristic \(p\) and let \(L/K\) be a finite Galois extension. Assume that \(G=\text{Gal}(L/K)\) is a \(p\)-group with the following property: Every subgroup \(H\) of \(G\) is equal to the intersection of the subgroups of \(G\) of index \(p\) which contain \(H\). In [Pac. J. Math. 276, No. 2, 309--320 (2015; Zbl 1327.11082)], \textit{J. A. CastaƱeda} and \textit{Q. Wu} showed how, in the case where char\((K)=p\), the upper and lower ramification breaks of such an extension can be expressed in terms of the ramification breaks of subextensions \(M/K\) of \(L/K\) such that \([M:K]=p\). In the present paper it is shown that every group \(G\) satisfying the given conditions is elementary abelian. This leads to easy proofs of the results of [loc. cit.]. These proofs are also valid in the case char\((K)=0\).
