A \(2n \times 2n\) matrix \(A\) is symplectic if \[{A^T}\left(\begin{matrix} 0 & I \\ { - I} & 0 \\ \end{matrix} \right) A=\left( \begin{matrix} 0 & I \\ { - I} & 0 \\ \end{matrix} \right).\] Moreover, if \(n > 1\), then every \(2n\times 2n\) complex symplectic matrix is a product of four symplectic involutions. The main result of this paper is that every \(2n \times 2n\) real symplectic matrix is a product of a finite number of real symplectic involutions.
