Intrinsic construction of invariant functions on simple Lie algebras (Q2253032)

From a well known theorem of Chevalley, it is possible to establish that, for a complex simple Lie algebra \(\mathfrak{g}\), the algebra of polynomials on \(\mathfrak{g}\) invariant under the adjoint action of a group \(G\) is finitely generated. In this paper, the author describes an algorithm to compute one set of invariants which generates the previous ring of invariants.
