Let \(\text{LP}(1)\) denote the set of all entire functions of order 1 having only real zeros. The authors recall the following conjecture available in the literature. Let \(f\in\text{LP}(1)\) and that its zeros \(\{x_k\}\) are listed in increasing order. If \(\xi<\eta\) are consecutive zeros of \(f'\) then \[ \text{inf}\Biggl[{(x_{k+2}- x_k)\over 2}\Biggr]\leq \xi-\eta\leq \sup\Biggl[{(x_{k=2}- x_k)\over 2}\Biggr] \] (observe that \({(x_{k+2}- x_k)\over 2}\) coincide with the distances between consecutive mid points of zeros of \(f\)). In this paper using interesting geometrical ideas the authors give an exhaustive answer to this conjecture in two theorems, one concerning the first inequality and another concerning the second inequality. Several important examples are also discussed.
