This work is devoted to the study of spatial dynamics of a species in a shifting habitat. The underlying equation is an integro-difference equation. The growth function is assumed to be nondecreasing in density and space. It also shifts at a constant speed. There are several important assumptions. For example, the monotonicity of growth function in space variable indicates that the quality of the habitat improves to the right along the axis. Moreover, the discontinuity assumption indicates that the environmental conditions may change abruptly at some points in space. The existence of traveling waves is established under certain conditions. The authors provide sharp conditions for existence of forced traveling waves with speed, which is the main contribution of this work.
