For \(1 < p \leq \infty\), the \(p\)th Cesàro sequence space \(\operatorname{ces}(p)\) is the Banach space of all real or complex scalar-valued sequences \((x_n)_{n \in \mathbb{N}} \in \mathbb{K}^{\mathbb{N}}\) with \[ \left\| (x_n)_{n \in \mathbb{N}} \right\|_{\operatorname{ces}(p)} := \left\| \left( \frac{1}{n}\sum_{j=1}^{n} |x_j| \right)_{n \in \mathbb{N}} \right\|_{\ell_p} < \infty. \] Analogously, for \(1 \leq p < \infty\), the \(p\)th Tandori sequence space \(\operatorname{tand}(p)\) is the Banach space that gathers all \((x_n)_{n \in \mathbb{N}} \in \mathbb{K}^{\mathbb{N}}\) with \[ \left\| (x_n)_{n \in \mathbb{N}} \right\|_{\operatorname{tand}(p)} := \left\| \left( \sup_{j \geq n} |x_j| \right)_{n \in \mathbb{N}} \right\|_{\ell_p} < \infty. \] The author investigates the lattice of closed ideals in \(\mathcal{L}(X)\), the algebra of continuous linear operators acting on a Banach space \(X\), when \(X\) is the \(p\)th Tandori sequence space \(\operatorname{tand}(p)\) or the \(p'\)th Cesàro sequence space \(\operatorname{ces}(p')\), \(1 \leq p < \infty\). The author proves the following isomorphism \[ \operatorname{tand}(p) \approx \left( \oplus_{n=1}^\infty \ell_\infty^{2n-1} \right)_p \] and, due to the fact that the spaces \(\operatorname{ces}(p')\) and \(\left(\operatorname{tand}(p)\right)^*\) are isomorphic (but not isometric) [\textit{G. Bennett}, Factorizing the classical inequalities. Providence, RI: American Mathematical Society (AMS) (1996; Zbl 0857.26009)], dual results for \(\mathcal{L}(\operatorname{ces}(p'))\) also follow. Furthermore, it is also obtained that Tandori sequence spaces are complemented in certain Lorentz sequence spaces, and that the lattice of closed ideals for certain other Lorentz and Garling sequence spaces has infinite cardinality.
