Multiplicatively idempotent semirings. (Q2515194)

The paper is devoted to semirings with idempotent (and possibly commutative) multiplication. Main results concern the case with commutative (that is semilattice) multiplication. Such semirings may or may not contain zero and unit elements. While semirings with additive semilattice addition (and more general semilattice ordered algebras) have already a quite extensive literature, there are not so many results concerning semirings with semilattice multiplication. The paper fills the gap by providing some structure theorems for such semirings, describing the lattice of varieties they form, and subdirectly irreducible members of these varieties.
