In this paper the authors study the twisted category algebra \(A\), over a field \(k\) of characteristic zero, for a finite split category and a fixed 2-cocycle with values in the multiplicative group of \(k\). In this situation, the category of biset functors over \(k\) is equivalent to the category of modules over a certain centralizer subalgebra of \(A\). The present paper introduces a new order on the indexing set of simple modules with respect to which it turns out that both \(A\) and the centralizing algebra describing biset functors are quasi-hereditary. As a special example, the classical Brauer algebra is considered.
