Every \(n\)-dimensional smooth projective manifold \(X\) can be embedded into \({\mathbb P^{N}}\), with \(N\geq 2n+1\). One conjectures that an embedding with \(N-n\leq n\) occurs only for a finite number of families, provided \(X\) is not of general type. This conjecture has been verified for surfaces in \(\mathbb{P}^4\) by \textit{G. Ellinsgrud} and \textit{C. Peskine} [Invent. Math. 95, 1--11 (1989; Zbl 0676.14009)], for \(3\)-folds in \(\mathbb{P}^5\) by \textit{R. Braun, G. Ottaviani, M. Schneider} and \textit{F. O. Schreyer} [in: Complex Analysis and Geometry, 311--338 (1993; Zbl 0798.14023)], and by \textit{M. Schneider} [Int. J. Math. 3, 397--399 (1992; Zbl 0762.14022)] in the case \(N-n\leq n-2\). In the paper under review, the author examines the case of non-general type \(3-\)folds in \({\mathbb P^6}\), proving boundedness for threefolds \(X\subset \mathbb{P}^6\) containing a smooth ruled surface as hyperplane section and not contained in a fourfold of degree \(\leq 15\). The author also obtains some partial results for \(3-\)folds contained in a fourfold of degree \(\leq 15\).
