Consider the system of two equations \[ u_t=(u^m)_{xx},\quad v_t=(v^n)_{xx},\qquad (x,t)\in(0,L)\times(0,T), \] complemented by the zero flux boundary conditions at \(x=L\) and the following nonlinear boundary conditions at \(x=0\): \[ -(u^m)_x=u^{p_{11}}v^{p_{12}},\quad -(v^n)_x=u^{p_{21}}v^{p_{22}}. \] We say that the solution \((u,v)\) blows up non-simultaneously if one of its components blows up while the second component remains bounded. The authors study positive solutions which are nondecreasing in time and find necessary and sufficient conditions on the exponents \(m\), \(n\), \(p_{11}\), \(p_{12}\), \(p_{21}\), \(p_{22}\) guaranteeing nonsimultaneous blow-up for suitable initial data. They also study the blow-up rate and blow-up set of the component which blows up.
