Let D be a bounded domain in \(R^ N\) with smooth boundary S, and set \(Q=(0,T)\times D\), where \(T>0\). Denote by B a maximal monotone graph in \(R\times R\) with bounded domain. Consider the quasilinear degenerate parabolic equation \[ (1a)\quad u_ t=\Delta b+f(t,x)\text{ in } Q,\quad b\in B(u), \] under Neumann boundary and initial conditions \[ (1b)\quad b_ n=h(t,x)\text{ on } (0,T)\times S\text{ and } u=u_ 0(x)\text{ in } D\text{ for } t=0. \] Here, f,h and \(u_ 0\) are given functions and n denotes the outward normal on S. Introducing a nonresonance condition on f,h and \(u_ 0\), the author establishes an existence and uniqueness result for weak variational solutions to (1). No Lipschitz condition on B or \(B^{-1}\) is imposed.
