Anomalous dynamics in symmetric triangular irrational billiards (Q2683573)

The authors consider mathematical billiards inside a triangle. They rigorously prove that the long time behavior of trajectories can be associated with the geometric symmetry of the triangle itself. In particular, their results show great similarities between rational and irrational billiards. Applying their machinery the authors are able to prove a long-standing conjecture on non-periodic and not everywhere dense trajectories in this billiard system.
