Spectrum and solutions of Dirac systems (English)

It is well-known that the subordinacy theory of \textit{D. J. Gilbert} and \textit{D. B. Pearson} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 128, 30-56 (1987; Zbl 0666.34023)] can be extended to Dirac equations and second-order difference operators. Here, the author reproves the result for Dirac operators with constant mass following the approach due to \textit{Y. Last} and \textit{B. Simon} for Schrödinger operators [Invent. Math. 135, 329-367 (1999; Zbl 0931.34066)]. This yields quite precise bounds and integral conditions on the transfer matrix for absolutely continuous spectrum.
