The author discusses properties and examples of semidirect sums of Lie algebras. Namely, let \(g, h\) be Lie algebras and \(\tau\in\Hom(g,\mathrm{Der}\, h)\). Then one defines a structure of a Lie algebra on the direct sums of vector spaces \(g\oplus_\tau h\) called the semidirect sum of Lie algebras.
