    Let \(H( {B_n } )\) denote the space of holomorphic functions on the unit ball \( {B_n }\) and let \(S({B_n })\) be the set of all holomorphic self-mappings on \( {B_n }\). For each \(\alpha > 0\), weighted-type spaces \(H_\alpha ^\infty\) are defined as follows: \[ H_\alpha ^\infty = \{ f \in H( {B_n } ):\mathop {\sup }\limits_{0 < r < 1} ( {1 - r^2 } )^\alpha M_\infty ( {f,r} ) < \infty \} , \] where \(M_\infty ( {f,r} ) = \sup_{| z | = r} | {f( z )} |\). It is easy to see that \( f \in H_\alpha ^\infty\) if and only if \[ \sup _{z \in B_n } ( {1 - | z |^2 } )^\alpha | {f( z )} | < \infty, \] so under the norm \(\| f \|_{H_\alpha ^\infty } = \sup_{z \in B_n } ( {1 - | z |^2 } )^\alpha |f(z)|\), \(H_\alpha ^\infty\) with this norm is a Banach space. It is sometimes called Bers-type space which is a special case of the weighted-type space \( H_\mu ^\infty\). A positive continuous function \(\mu\) on \([ {0,1} )\) is called normal if there are two constants \(b > a > 0\) and \( 0 \leq \delta < 1\), such that, for \( r \in [ {\delta ,1} )\), \[ \frac{{\mu ( r )}}{{( {1 - r} )^a }} \downarrow 0,\;\;\;\frac{{\mu ( r )}}{{( {1 - r} )^b }} \uparrow \infty , \] as \(r \to 1^ -\). A function \(f \in H( {B_n } )\) is said to belong to the Bloch-type space \(\mathfrak{B}_\mu\) if \[ \| f \|_{\mathfrak{B}_\mu } = \mathop {\sup }\limits_{z \in {B_n }} \mu ( z )| {\nabla f( z )} | < \infty. \] Here, \(\nabla f( z )\) denotes the complex gradient of \(f\), i.e., \(\nabla f( z ) = ( {\frac{{\partial f}}{{\partial z_1 }}( z ),\dots,\frac{{\partial f}}{{\partial z_n }}( z )} )\). It is easy to check that both \(\mathfrak{B}_{\mu }\) is a Banach space under the norm \[ \| f \|_\mu = | {f( 0 )} | + \| f \|_{\mathfrak{B},\mu }. \] Given \(\psi \in H( {B_n } )\) and \(\varphi \in S( {B_n } )\), the weighted composition operator \( T_{\psi ,\varphi }\) is defined by \[ T_{\psi ,\varphi } ( f ) = \psi f \circ \varphi ,\;f \in H( {B_n } ). \] For \(z \in B_n\), \(u \in \mathbb{C}^n\), set \( H_z ( {u,u} ) = \frac{{( {1 - | z |^2 } )| u |^2 + | {\langle {z,u} \rangle } |^2 }}{{( {1 - | z |^2 } )^2 }}\) and let \(J\varphi ( z )\) denote the Jacobian matrix of \(\varphi ( z )\) and \( J\varphi ( z )z = ( {\sum\limits_{k = 1}^n {\frac{{\partial \varphi _1 }}{{\partial z_k }}z_k ,\dots{},\sum\limits_{k = 1}^n {\frac{{\partial \varphi _n }}{{\partial z_k }}z_k } } } )^T\). The paper under the review obtains some necessary and sufficient conditions for the weighted composition operator \( T_{\psi ,\varphi }\) to be bounded and compact from weighted-type spaces \(H_\alpha ^\infty\) to Bloch-type space \(\mathfrak{B}_{\mu }\) on the unit ball of \( \mathbb{C}^n\). The main result reads as follows: Suppose that \(0 < \alpha < \infty\), \(\mu\) is normal function on \([ {0,1} )\), \(\varphi \in S( {B_n } )\) and \(\psi \in H( {B_n } )\). Then \(T_{\psi ,\varphi } :H_\alpha ^\infty \to \mathfrak{B}_{\mu }\) is compact if and only if all of the following are satisfied: (a) \(\psi \in \mathfrak{B}_{\mu }\) and \(\psi \varphi _l \in \mathfrak{B}_{\mu }\) for \(l \in \{ 1,\dots{},n\}\); (b) \(\mathop {\lim }\limits_{| {\varphi ( z )} | \to 1} \frac{{\mu ( z )| {R\psi ( z )} |}}{{( {1 - | {\varphi ( z )} |^2 } )^\alpha }} = 0\); (c) \(\mathop {\lim }\limits_{| {\varphi ( z )} | \to 1} \frac{{\mu ( z )| {\psi ( z )} |}}{{( {1 - | {\varphi ( z )} |^2 } )^\alpha }}\{ H_{\varphi ( z )} ( {J\varphi ( z )z,J\varphi ( z )z} )\} ^{{1 \mathord{/ {\vphantom {1 2}} . \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} 2}} = 0\).
